Take a moment and use your imagination . . . Imagine a church full of people who believe that their lives are nothing more nor less than an ongoing, ever-improving display of who God is in all of His wonder, awe, and power. He made you and me, everyone in our church, in our community, and in the nations to be satisfied in Him. That is what we, at Bethel, are devoted to trying to live and make plain.
The vision of Bethel Church of Cleveland Heights is to live as Jesus lived and love as Jesus loved. Nothing fancy. Nothing philosophical. Just a strong desire to do this in such a God-saturated way that our life together is so compelling that people of all ages, races, and backgrounds are irresistibly drawn to God. We believe that's what church is to be about.
Bethel is a community of individuals who have abandoned the notion that life can and should be lived in isolation. We are diverse people who express ourselves uniquely and are united by our relationship with Christ.
In our hectic and splintered world, people often feel alone and disconnected from one another. We believe a New Testament church not only proclaims the gospel, but also provides community for disconnected people. Therefore, we invest time, money and energy in developing deepening relationships with one another through small groups, social activities, and ministries carried out in teams. We believe that because of the power of the gospel, people can connect across racial, educational, cultural, and generational lines to experience genuine biblical community.
We are a community of ordinary people who have been changed from the inside out. Christ has given us a new identity, rescuing us from both self-righteousness and self-condemnation. Because of this, we don't condemn others who are not a part of our community. In fact, we seek to be welcoming and respectful toward those who do not share our beliefs as we seek to live out and proclaim the gospel.
